Colonel Dedshott gets married by constantlearner

Summary
This is a Professor Branestawm story with a few Dad’s army characters and a very slight nod to Jasper Fforde in Chapter 2. It is probably best to imagine this as taking place in the 1930s. Sergeant Fastenluce and the Printenpays are my own invention. The events in the flat above Mrs Pushnpull’s pram emporium are describe by me in a previous story, but anyone familiar with the Professor will be able to guess at what happened. I know the story should be complete in one chapter, but the story doesn’t know that.

Summary
Set in 1949, Dorothea, now a moderately successful author, goes to stay with Nancy and John and their daughters on Malta, where John is stationed. Later in the same summer, Dorothea, Dick and Titty, along with the small Callums then revisit the Hebrides. (I've got Port and Starboard as Nell and Bess in by copy of coot club (not a first ed.) so went with Port being Nell and Starboard being Bess.) If I've got it wrong, I'm sorry.

Summary
Set spring/ summer 1938. With war increasingly likely, the Admiralty need updated charts of the Baltic Sea. Amateur yachtsmen and women are discretely asked to help with this, under the guise of leisurely pleasure cruising. The Swallow, Amazons and Callums are among them. Naval Lieutenant John Walker has been asked to do a little more than that and Nancy inevitably gets involved the task. Involves danger and some (not graphic) violence in a few chapters. A warning will be put at the start of any chapter with a fight. (I've had a complaint, via a different site, that I should have given a trigger warning for Nazis. I thought Berlin 1938 would be sufficient and that anyone who really needed that warning would know what the dates and place implied, or look it up, not just say they "couldn't be bothered to check." I was wrong. I still feel angry at the complainant's implied contempt for those who actually suffered contrasted with her extreme care for herself.)

Summary
Dorothea Wimsey - Lady St George is becoming a successful author of adventurous historical romances - or romantic historical adventures, depending on your point of view. She uses her maiden name as a pen name, but this has done little to mollify the Duchess of Denver.

Summary
This it the first part of a story I originally posted elsewhere as Pieces. That narrated events in chronological order. I decided to see if the story works better split into three connected sections not with every scene strictly chronological. If any reader has had the patience read the both versions, I would love to know which structure you prefer.
In 1945, Dorothea's work at Bletchley Park has finished. She is wondering what happens next, but she isn't the only one.Series
