Summary
Her costume was the wrong shade. The red was too bright, which was truly saying something. The fabric looked like it could’ve been cut from old t-shirts. It wouldn’t hold up in a catfight. She didn’t even have any gloves. But she had stood there like she had stood there a hundred times before. She had looked him right in the eyes, something many of the GCPD still avoided at all costs.
And she saw the fourth man. The man that he missed.
OR
Stephanie Brown becomes the third Robin through pure persistence.

Summary
It's 1988, and summer has just begun in Gotham City.
Bruce Wayne and Harvey Dent, Gotham Academy's student council president and valedictorian, respectively, have just graduated high school. They've spent the whole of their teenage years together-- and that doesn't seem to be changing anytime soon, as the moment August comes, they're off to college together.
But still, it's a milestone. People change.
During a drunken night, they plan a road trip. One last adventure where they're just the way they are now. And nothing will change. Not yet, anyway.

Summary
It takes Harvey a second to realize that he’s awake. His body hasn’t realized yet. His chest heaves like he had been running, and sweat slicks his back, sticky against his navy blue sheets. His hands are gripping fistfulls of the blankets as if letting go would mean falling back into that room. Into those nights. Those long, long nights.
He can’t breathe right. The air is heavy, and it refuses to fill his lungs. Each gasp rattles his body, each breath too shallow to do him any good. He presses his hand against his mouth, trying to muffle the sobs he knows he won’t be able to hold back for much longer, trying not to wake Bruce. He prays to a God he doesn’t believe in.
Please, do not wake him.
But his body betrays him.
A sound slips out, a sharp, broken sob that he couldn’t feel coming.
“Harv?” A voice calls from the other side of the room, and Harvey’s stomach falls to the floor.
--
Harvey Dent, in the middle of the night in his Princeton dorm, finally reveals to Bruce Wayne the extent of his father's abuse.
