    Not the tired she got from staying up until 2AM. Tired in the way it soaked through her muscles and bones until every waking moment was difficult for her.

    Of course, it was easy to hide the exhaustion from everyone else. No one would expect little Emma Nolan, Daisy Award-winning baby nurse, to be so drained.

    And no one would expect the secret she held onto so dearly. She knew it was bad, horrible even. But it’d been a habit she’d developed, one she’d stumbled into by accident years ago.
