"Hush, Pom-Pom," Jax cooed, eyes never leaving Caine's, even as his hands tightened, a faint crick sound from his strained teeth drawing a strangled gasp from Caine's mouth. He yanked back again, mostly on instinct, pain radiating out from the grip on his jaw, knees bracing against the floor in his efforts to escape. Jax simply watched it happen, unblinking, pressing his jaw open a little wider.

Jax and Pomni fought all the time. In the Circus, in their rooms, on adventures– the one throughline is each endeavor would almost always end with the two of them bickering until their throats were hoarse. It was just the nature of their dynamic, and today was absolutely no exception. After another long day of ridiculous adventuring activities, the very last thing Pomni had wanted was to be quipping with the rabbit that got on everyone’s nerves.
