Mark had felt pulls in his chest whenever Ethan said something particularly worrisome, or did something daring without thinking and hurting himself- or coming close to it- in the process. Same as when Ethan said he had a cool new idea. The day he said he got put on for Kollok, for example. Grr grr, little creaks like a rupturing submarine, shooting through Mark’s chest.
He cared about Ethan. The man moved across the entire country to work for him, even if it wasn’t his only motivation for coming to Los Angeles.

Ethan in makeup was hot, Mark has come to terms with this, everyone has come to terms with it. Probably a lot quicker than Mark, but he got there eventually- he got into the ballpark. If he’s honest, he’s still not super to-terms with it and if it happened again, he might need to excuse himself.
(Aka Mark has criseses, plural, and makes them Ethan's problem when they are alone together in a locked (not-locked) room. Lucky for Mark, Ethan's a pretty good problem solver.)

Summary

Struggling with migraines isn’t an uncommon thing for Astarion. It’s something that he’s been dealing with all this life. He tries to hide it, to mask what he’s feeling, to not let anyone see any weakness that he has. It’s usually easy to put a practiced smile on his face, but there are… certain migraines. When they come, he can only hope that he only hears a tune being played in the background or sees a reassuring and gentle smile. He doesn’t want to lose himself in the others.
Neither had any idea that the other existed until a small art show in a bookshop called Tara’s brought them together.
