Summary
"That guy, Carlos. He’s not gay." Lando’s voice was low, urgent.
Max’s head snapped toward him. His mouth fell open, eyes blown wide. He looked like he was experiencing every emotion at once. "Are you sure?" Max whispered, voice barely containing his excitement. The pure joy in his tone was borderline disturbing.
Lando nodded. "I’ve never been more sure of anything in my life."
But they needed proof. And, as if the universe was working in their favor, Carlos chose that moment to walk past them again, this time alone. Heading toward the bathrooms.
Lando’s lips curled into a grin. A dangerous, unhinged one.
"And I’m gonna prove it."
Or: A gay volleyball tournament, just a hobby, but don’t tell them like that. Two teams willing to do absolutely anything to win. And Lando? He’s got some serious attitude issues. As for Carlos, he’s too busy figuring out whether he hates it… or kind of likes it.

Summary
They complete each other in a sense. Past and future, destined to navigate the present together. Finding a way to fill the gaps and pieces missing within each other.
And yet Carlos doesn't know how to ask him to stay. So he accepts Charles and his being, his nature of chasing and hoping. And he accepts his own. Of a yearning so deep and ancient it clings to him. Suffocates him.
Carlos wonders how different his life would have been if the crash was delayed by only a second. Would he have ever known him? Charles crashed right into him nonetheless.

In which Charles crash lands on Carlos's moon, his home. Fate brings them together, and it's fate that seals their end.
