Forming the words slowly, saying them softly, Flins murmured, "Yes. If what I want changes… then I, too, shall change. In fact, I have changed. I have been changing."
At that, Illuga looked up. "Ah? You have? But you look the same. How have you been changing? Why?"
Illuga was looking at him. Therefore, Flins could not help but to smile again, to curl the corners of his lips up and to soften the glow of his eyes. "Why?" said he. "Because of you, young master.
"If this body has been changing, it is because of you."
Flins' humanoid form is borne of his thoughts, his feelings, his desires. And if his desires change, so too does that form.

It has been centuries since their founding, and yet the Lightkeepers still hold vigil not with silence but with banquets. And so the fortress' mead hall is full of food and drink: a great spread of exotic ingredients and exquisite wine which glitter under the lights. But there is no merry-making, no music, no laughter.
... For a certain Lightkeeper, it is the first time she has attended such an occasion; the first time she has partaken of a banquet that mourns the dead. Within the first hour, the agitation and restlessness in her chest grows too great to contain. She slips out of the hall.

And watched with some satisfaction as Illuga's expression transformed into one of utter slack-jawed shock.

Inexplicably, he blushed.

Alhaitham, though?
Alhaitham never loses control. No ears or tail ever manifest in a fit of emotion.

Lately, Kaveh's schedule had become a little bit more regular. Just a little. He tended to meet clients in the morning, now; and while he still socialized late into the night—those who worked in his field, or adjacent to it, were not known for their regular hours—nowadays he did not step out of Lambad's so late that the night was blending into morning, that away from Sumeru City's raucous taverns and bars the air was suffused with such dead quiet that his steps, his breaths as he stumbled home seemed to roar in his ears.
... There was no particular reason for this newly regular routine. Or at least, no particular good reason.
Really. There wasn't.
Alhaitham has been giving Kaveh kisses on the cheek—one when he leaves the house, another when he returns.

Alhaitham is fast asleep on the middle couch—the only one able to contain his too-long legs. Half the cushions are on the floor. The stained glass windows diffuse the moonlight to soft greens and emeralds that kiss his skin and give his hair an almost bioluminescent glow where it hits the streaks of colour hidden amongst steel grey strands. The gem between his collarbones gleams like a cat's eye, startlingly reflective.
It's the most charming sight Kaveh's ever seen, even if there's a bit of drool escaping from the corner of Alhaitham's mouth.
Kaveh comes home after a long trip.

But when Kaveh ducks under the flaps of cloth that serve as an entrance, those days immediately melt away just as fire thaws the snow. The heat in the tent flushes his cheeks to red, chasing away the chill in his bones, his extremities. The low, orange light emanating from the power source at the tent's centre is warm and welcoming. And of course—
Curled up rather like a cat near that power source, covered in blankets, is Alhaitham.

The eternal night descended when Diluc was ten years old. With the dark came the cruel despair of hunger; of cold—Mondstadt is a region with a mild climate, and the long night devastated crops and destroyed livelihoods. There was no one who did not know suffering.
