Summary
Clan Giopara’s number one protégé. Luminary Club President. Poster boy of Durandal Mechanical Engineering. Some sort of modern legionnaire, ready for cannon fire. It was all very impressive; it irritated Viktor to no end.
Viktor came across a paper of his in the department journal about his hammer specs and sent in a piece with critiques on his work in the next issue. It was nearly twice as long as the original article.
The next day, Jayce showed up at his dorm with flowers and an offer to work with him at his startup.

The streets of Zaun murmured of the cyborg Machine Herald in equal parts fear and awe. The first unit of his Glorious Evolution has already been built: himself.
And the rest?

Summary
As far as lab-partner-classmate-roommates go, Jayce never thought he would have one. When he was a young boy building bottle ships by himself in his pigtails, he had already understood that his touch was different. He considered his idyllic Piltovian childhood and realized he would do anything to protect it, and that he was the only one that was capable of such a thing.
On that Progress Day, exhausted from sitting and staying for treats from Clans Ferros and Giopara, he saw a badly postured figure with dark flippy hair in trim Academy colors looking bored at the cheese plates.

Summary
The first day he had thought: there was no one else he’d met like Viktor. Engineering students by nature were kind of all cut out from the same cloth, but Viktor had read all of the textbooks that Jayce liked, even Handbook of Mineral Matrices. And Recursive Computation for Physics. He was a wicked numberphile. Viktor admired elegant proofs, used strange Zaunish mnemonics for his integrals, carried chalk tucked behind his ear, had the same spinning hamster wheel in his head that’s certainly kept Jayce running for the past twenty-four years.
Viktor was also more attractive than any other Engineering TA he’s ever met. But that was besides the point.
