Summary
They’re sitting there, t-shirts laid out across the rocks to dry, when Jongseong announces that he'll attend a high school in Seoul and is leaving already in August.
“Oh,” says Heeseung. He’s never been to South Korea before. He hasn’t really gone without Jongseong for any long stretch of time since they’d befriended each other, but tries to be enthusiastic, like a good hyung would. “Cool. Like, for a few months?”
Jongseong doesn’t say anything, just picks at a piece of rock, and Heeseung’s stomach sinks like a stone in water. "A year?"
“For the entirety of high school,” Jongseong finally mumbles.
They both fall quiet. The only sounds are the squawks of seagulls and the far-away crash of waves meeting the shore. They’re so quiet Heeseung tells himself he can hear the critters living between the rocks crawl around amongst each other.
Heeseung is what some would call a nonparticipant in life. It isn’t a problem, most of the time.

Summary
He imagines what Jeongin's DMs with the model might look like: a string of sent messages without a single response in sight, foolish hope feeding his fanboy streak. Typing sweet words like so proud of you! You're doing great! while Hwang clinks champagne glasses with Dua Lipa on a yacht and then sunbathes on remote, private beaches. Surely, he must know that's how it is. Surely, he must also be feigning ignorance for his own sake.
What does Jeongin's boyfriend think about this obsession, anyway? Jisung would cry himself to sleep every night if his partner routinely told his followers that someone other than him is the prettiest man in the world. Maybe he's not as active online…?
Jisung and Jeongin meet in college, where they quickly develop a strong friendship. One day, Jisung finds out Jeongin has a boyfriend he knows nothing about and immediately sets to do some research. How is he supposed to get the info when all Jeongin talks about is his favorite model, Hwang Hyunjin?
Or: 5 times Jisung thinks Jeongin is a crazy Hwang Hyunjin fan, and 1 time he finally finds out who Jeongin's boyfriend is.

Hyunjin is no stranger to attention in clubs and bars. Some buy him drinks, some ask for a dance. But this—
“Please, marry me. Or I can… hip… I can be whatever you want me to be,” the guy says, looking up from his place at Hyunjin's feet. “And I can, like… hip… get a job and buy you things forever. Hip. A house.”
“Jesus, Jeongin. Is this really how you plan on wooing him?” His friend sighs, still trying to pull him back up by the neck of his shirt. He simply won't budge, no matter how hard he tugs. “By telling him you're unemployed?”
“And clearly desperate,” Jeongin's other friend adds, swirling the straw in his cocktail without offering any help.
Jeongin bats the hands that have been pestering him out of the way, peeling his eyes off of Hyunjin to stare at the other two men with a drunken frown. “I told you I… hip… have an interview this week.”
— this is definitely new.
Drunk Jeongin drops to his knees and begs Hyunjin to marry him. To the surprise of everybody, it works like a charm.
