Summary
After Sasuke told Naruto of his plans to become the Hokage, the two fought briefly, and eventually fell unconscious. Sasuke came to before Naruto did, and as he gazed upon the man’s face, bruised and bleeding and bright, he realized he did not have what it took to sever this one last bond. At least not yet.
But he would.
Sasuke realized that, in his absence, he had missed a large portion of Naruto’s life. And while the absence would continue, Sasuke’s ignorance would not. He used to know everything about his arch nemesis, and now, years later, he would learn it all again. The schedule of Naruto’s every day, his favorite moves and counter moves, everything that made him relax, and everything that made him tick. Sasuke would make the man his mission. He’d demote Naruto from his only friend to a stranger, and later to a goal.
And when he’d be desensitized to everything Naruto was, he’ll successfully have made him nothing more than a whisper in the wind.
The moment Naruto means nothing is the moment when killing him will no longer prove to be difficult. It’ll surely be effortless. Just like growing is to grass. Like breathing is to a human.
Like moving tides is to the Moon.Bookmarked by d3fyyd
