"I don't write much flowery stuff." Nancy tells her quietly after Robin points out the way the chollas cast their shadows like claws. "I mean- newspaper journalism doesn't have much flexibility for that, you have to get the information in as a priority- but I think I could write about- about this.". Nancy smiles over at her. The stetson she's borrowed shadows her eyes but she still squints with the bright sun in their peripheral. Robin wants to reach out, to place her palm to Nancy's cheek to protect her from the glow.
"Are you talking about the view?" She asks hoarsely, hand staying loyally at her own side.
Nancy doesn't answer, but her eyes don't leave Robin's.

It was quiet as Caitlyn and Vi both processed the information, and then very slowly Vi pointed her finger to Caitlyn, and then to herself, one eyebrow raised up to the buzzed half of her hairline. “Us. Get married.”
A new law in Piltover prevents Zaun convicts from working topside without citizenship. Luckily for Vi, all she and Caitlyn have to do is take the next step of their relationship and get married, securing Vi a place in Piltover.
Only problem is, they aren’t in a relationship.

Lae'zel keeps returning anyway.
Modern AU - Shadowheart is a DJ, Lae'zel is a sad little puppy, and together they bring out the worst in each other. But also the best. And, in the end, the best of them wins. A tale of heartbreak, loss, recovery and, ultimately, connection.

It was painful, but only at first, then it was peaceful, even when armored men and unfamiliar Targaryens poured forth to gawk at her. They all wore unfamiliar faces, and looked on with unknowing eyes. Had this been what Rhaenyra had felt in those last moments, as she stared into the maw of Sunfyre and was only watched by the twisted snears of those who hated her?
She let her head slip back and the sunset had the shimmer of Syrax's scales and with her final breath gave a soft dracrarys and imagined the dragon's mouth pouring forth fire to cleanse her clean. She was the Mad Queen of Megor's Holdfast, and she would not give them the satisfaction. Red, red, red staining the bark so that one couldn't distinguish the leaves from the roots.
Then with a painful jerk, as if she were ripped free from her skin, she woke with a shout.
