Truth lingered in her statement, yet Britz evaded her stare to dull the reminder. “I did what was necessary.”
Soft hands cupped his cheeks and nudged him to center, to her. She smiled—something small, but bright enough to rival the daylight.
“You don’t need to do anything anymore,” Sheena said.
Britz can finally rest. Thankfully, he doesn't need to be alone to do so.
