Yuji is shown into a small bathroom, one lined with mirrors, to bind the collar around his own neck. He doesn’t look upwards, though, until the collar is in its rightful place; the strip of leather sitting comfortably around his throat, just below his Adam’s apple.
In the centre of it runs a thin line of white (denoting his inexperience) but, bracketing that, is the same crimson he had seen the Betas at the reception desk wear.
And something within Yuji goes blissfully quiet.

Satoru amends his question accordingly: “Did you want him?”
Yuuji’s brows furrow, frustrated and confused. “I…don’t know. He’s my friend. But his scent, my body—”
Satoru very slowly unfurls his fists before his nails can sink into the skin. They flex restlessly, his cursed energy roiling with it. Yuuji’s frown deepens, his expression growing concerned as his eyes flit over every visible inch of Satoru’s body.
Satoru tamps down on his power and his emotions.
He cannot harm Fushiguro Tōji’s son. He cannot harm the future Zen'in head.
“It’s just biology,” Satoru tells Yuuji. “You don’t want to scare him off, right?”
Yuuji nods miserably. Something twinges in Satoru’s chest.
“You’re a strong boy,” Satoru tells him. “And I won’t let you hurt anyone—I promised you that a very long time ago.”
Satoru’s ward is in that peculiar purgatory between puberty and presentation. He tries to help.
