Summary
Hello! I've just moved to NYC, but I feel like a lonely fish out of water. It's hard to meet real people here, and even on social media everyone seems distant, so I decided to follow my dad's advice and ask the local paper. Do you have any non-tourist recommendations for places to eat?
I'm desperate for a human suggestion, not some Google search or unnamed article.
Thanks,
MG
Editor's Note: MG, Thank you for writing in, but this section is for personal statements and advertisements, we don't reply. I hope you find some real company soon, but for now, I'd recommend &Pizza on 28th Street if you're ever in the area. Good luck.

"I think you’re one of my closest friends. I have my roommate and my colleagues and my friends all the way back home, but you’re the one I think about after a long day. You’re the one who makes my hands jitter as I go to pick up the paper from outside the train station. You’re the one."

Summary
“Does he make you feel like this?”
“Like what?”
“Like the songs on the creepy stalker mixtape?”
Seokjin laughs at that. He leans over Jungkook to toss his phone on the nightstand and lies down again facing him. Close enough to breathe him in. Too close.
“No, of course not. People don‘t make each other feel these kinds of things in real life, Kookie.”
Wrong.
--
Or: Nearly a decade of Jungkook being madly in love and Seokjin falling at his own excruciatingly slow pace featuring the perfect cheesy soundtrack.
(get ready for: the childhood friends to roommates to fake boyfriends to lovers trope-combo; all the pining; drunken shenanigans; bad puns; oblivious, whipped idiots in love; A+ matchmaking strategies and the creepy stalker mixtape)

"Seokjin throws an arm over his waist and falls asleep as soon as his head hits the pillow and Jungkook holds him very very close while he gazes up at the stars above them. And as his eyes fall shut he feels the flowers again. But it seems like they aren’t really trying to crawl up his throat or suffocate him anymore - their petals are falling now. Flooding his empty ribcage. He is so in love."

Summary
Rapper-producer Min Yoongi takes the train late one night after his friends crash his car unexpectedly. He sits next to a stranger watching cat videos with the volume turned up, and ends up watching with him for the rest of the ride.
A six-minute slightly awkward train ride with someone he barely even talked to or looked at shouldn't have such an effect on Yoongi, but it does. He goes back to catch the same train, again and again.
And slowly and steadily, his world begins to shift.
He doesn’t even know the stranger's name.

" Yoongi clenched his jaw. “Stop.”
“I don’t think I will because everyone's been walking on eggshells around you, and it's time we stopped. You’re not weak and you’re not going to break. I know that. Do you know that? Do you know that you didn’t go through all that healing and strengthening just so you could be a hermit? Once you build muscle you’re supposed to keep exercising to maintain it, you know!” "

Summary
Jungkook is the most acclaimed artist of his generation.
Seokjin is supposed to be earning minimum wage as a professor in university, not attending film festivals in private jets and draped in designer.
Their connection? A gold band, promise of forevers, and childhood memories spent in lavender fields.

Summary
Jung Hoseok has always been straight, and he likes knowing that. It keeps life simple, without complications, and he's never felt the need to step across the shadowed line to the other side to see what might be found. Never, that is, until an obscenely handsome Kim Seokjin kisses him, more prank than reality, and suddenly he can think of little else but what's lurking over those dark borders waiting for discovery. But he doesn't know how to ask, and Seokjin doesn't seem inclined to help, and the only thing Hoseok knows now is that he's in a lot of fucking trouble.

Bookmarker's Notes
“ "My friends," says Hoseok, laughing, hollow, completely out of control. "Sure, they love me, most of the time. But I'm never what they love the most. Yoongi's my best friend, but I'm not his. That's Namjoon. And Namjoon has Yoongi, and they let me inside but never quite so close as they are. Never quite the same. You think I don't feel it? You think I don't know? I feel it every fucking day, but I always thought it was okay, you know? That it was nice, that they liked me at all. Because I thought I didn't really deserve them in the first place. Because I still hadn't done enough to earn them.
"And that was true even before Eun-ji and Jimin, before they took even more of them. They stole my friends from me, and I thanked them for doing it. For making my friends so fucking happy. And Eun-ji likes Hobi, because he can charm people, and Jimin likes Manager Jung, because he can make him a better dancer, but it's all about the things I can give them, and the four of them go out without me all the time. They leave me out, because Hoseok is a screw up who never has anyone long enough to be worth asking along.
"So yeah, I don't really have friends, not like you mean. I'm just the person who does them favors. All I do is fucking favors. No one's called me in years who didn't just want me to give them a piece of myself, and I don't have anything left. The only thing I ever had was my group, and Namjoon took that away too, because it was time for me to give him something else. It's gone. I'm gone. I've given my entire self away, and I don't have anything to show for it. Yoongi has Jimin, and Namjoon has Eun-ji, and Kyung-ah has her boyfriend, and Taehyung and Jeongguk have each other, and everyone in the world has a person who they're most important to but me. No one puts me first, ever. No one has since my mother."
Hoseok knows he's weeping, can feel the waves on his face, and Seokjin is staring at him, unmoving and blank. He's composed again, perfectly, and Hoseok hates the way his eyes are looking at him like he's a stranger once more.
"That was supposed to be you," says Hoseok. "You were going to put me first, care about me most. I did, for you. I did everything you wanted. I thought that's what we were to each other. I don't understand why you said you loved me. I don't understand why you would do that, if you were going to choose them. Because you didn't have to. You never had to. I was yours, from the very beginning. From that first kiss, you had exactly what you wanted. You didn't have to say that you loved me." “
