There’s a shift in the air between them, not entirely new. They’ve done this plenty of times before; this give and take is a bit like a familiar slow dance now in the way it comforts Wei Wuxian. He can let his guard down, can give up control freely—after so many years of fighting for control and never finding it, a relief—and Lan Wangji seems to get something similar from being the one to protect him, to make sure he is safe and taken care of during these moments.
Sometimes Lan Wangji’s command is enough to send shivers down his back and have him melting into submission. Tonight, the shivers are present but the easy submission is not.
"You will make me, Lan Zhan."
