Dorian had seen the Inquisitor give Cole a sun hat after the spirit had joined the Inquisition, the boy’s face lighting up in joy at the unexpected gift; and one would have to be blind not to see the steady stream of practice dummies delivered to Cassandra’s usual practice spot, or the sweats Alexander bribed the servants to send to Josephine on her busiest days.
It was an ill-hidden secret in the ranks that the Inquisitor liked to share gifts among his inner circle, but this, this was something different altogether. It was almost as if Alex was trying to court him, but that couldn’t be possible…could it?

Dorian can be quite insensitive without realising it, so he takes it upon himself to try and reconcile with the Inquisition's valiant leader. But, it's not going to be as easy as he thought. Who knew elves could be so stubborn, and attractive?

Summary
It was supposed to be a simple trip to Val Royeaux. Asan Lavellan insisted that he needed nothing more than one of Cullen's troop to go, leaving his companions to Skyhold. He should have returned safely in a matter of days, but with a snowstorm hitting the keep, the matter was made impossible, prolonging the trip.
Or so Dorian would have wished. When the bells of Skyhold ring loudly through the middle of the storm, it leaves a bad taste in his mouth and a sense of fear he could not shake off since the Inquisitor's departure.
It does not help that everything shatters upon his return.
