“What the fuck, Parker?”
His partner put his hands up innocently, serving Arthur an annoyed look. “Easy, English. I just invited you to dinner.”
“With your family!” He hissed, and Parker raised an eyebrow.
“You got a problem with my family?”
“No, no it’s just-” Arthur sighed, pausing in the middle of the room and raking a hand through his hair. He could only think of all those dinners with Bella’s side of the family during their engagement. He remembered Daniel watching him like a hawk from across the table, remembered how a hush fell over the dining room and how Bella went quiet whenever someone brought up his family, and if they were excited about the engagement…
He couldn’t stand talking about himself. And if Parker’s family was anything like him when they’d first met, then they were going to pry him open like a clam.
“I don’t think I’m the type of person you bring home to meet your family, that’s all.”

Will repeat what I wrote in my tumblr ask but man it really moved me! Exploring Arthur finally getting a familial dynamic in his life with a family who would love him for who he is was so genuinely emotionally moving. I’m inlove how you characterize everyone, they feel so human and very much like my own asian side of the family. It’s not a dynamic I have had the pleasure of seeing explored like this before and and it really warmed my heart.

"Easy for you to say, you're not meeting them for the first time," Arthur replies shortly.
Parker gives him a solid pat on the shoulder in encouragement, enough to jostle him to the side. His voice is bright as he attempts to redirect Arthur's cynicism, "Exactly! Which means I know who they will and won't like. And I'm gonna say it again Artie, because you still aren't listenin' to me, they're gonna love you."
Arthur is invited to his first Yang Family dinner.

I’m afraid I teared up several times!! Very emotional about the Yang family, absolutely amazing dynamic written. The warmth and love radiating from the home will always remind me of my own asian side of the family, I get very emotional reading its dynamic written.

The story would’ve been different. Sadder.
But Yuki did turn around, and noticed something that had been there for some time and she missed because she was too busy wallowing in her own self-pity and guilt.
It was a boy, a middle schooler.

God the character dynamics in this fic are truly to die for it’s incredible how well they bounce off each other. Introducing relationships that are surprising but writing them so well i fall inlove instantly🙏 thank you for being the one fic with kuroi/yuki and making it the best fic possible THANK YOU SO SO MUCH!!!
Yuki was so well written, I truly adored how she developed even in a non linear narrative. Her interactions with the cast and how they impact her life. The lessons she learns truly coinciding with the jjk motif of protecting youth, i was moved.

“Maki,” he repeats, and it’s like a missing piece of his soul falls back into place. The record of his life before he fought the Six-Eyes brat is a long, impossibly white scroll of nothing -- but written on it in faint letters is the name of a child, a child with a delicate name that brushed the heavens, spun a prayer into letters; a name that began with an M, and it ended in i, too.
“Maki,” he says again. “I think you’re my daughter.”

THE BEST FOUND FAMILY FIC EVER ME THINKS???? The only rec on my page bcs if there’s a fic you should read it’s this one
Reasons:
- It’s found family, the best troupe in the world
- Each character goes through development, arcs, struggles, etc
- Good antagonists and protagonists
- Did I mention it’s found family? It’s the best found family ever
- Emotional connections between the characters
- Perfect use of subversion of expectations
- Character and narrative foils, need I say more?
- I think I mentioned it but it’s found family
- There is angst, fluff, crack (kind of, sometimes) in perfect amounts
- The parents are parenting
- Oh god if I think about the characters in this fic for too long I get emotiomal
- The found family means so much to me, it should for you too so read it for the found family pretty please
