Summary
Mike is confused as to how he’s managed to screw up all of his closest relationships—again. He’s sick of feeling stuck and tired and like he doesn’t know how to fix anything.
So, when a crawl almost goes awry because Mike’s distracted, he realizes that he needs to figure out how to fix things. And fast. Especially when his mistake makes him confront things he’d been trying really hard not to think about:
One, he and El haven't really been in a relationship for a long time.
Two, he's almost lost his best friend more times due to his own stupidity than he can count. Only, this time, he doesn’t know if he can fix it.
And three, something is about to break open inside him, and he's terrified.

“You—Cas, fuck,” Dean bursts out, burying his hands in his hair and pacing a little, between two crappy formica tables and their equally low-budget plastic chairs. He stops, turning on his heel to face Castiel, who’s barely moved. The framing is so ridiculous—they’re in a fucking McDonalds, Cas is President of the United States, and the Secret Service—who are also angels—are watching the whole thing like this is a peep show—yeah, of course this is the way this thing goes down.

Summary
“The natural environment of the human soul is a human body,” Cas says. “Humans have yet to meet a foreign substrate that they don’t immediately attempt to colonize. My form in Hell was not an exception.” Then he shuts his mouth very deliberately and gestures back to Dean like his mic is going live in three, two.
“Or the bit where my soul gave you some kind of STD?” Dean finishes.
“It was a poor analogy. I apologize.”
“So what’s a better one?”
Castiel drums his fingers for a second. “It’s more like…the way a parasitic jewel wasp injects a cockroach with venom, and transforms it into a willing host for wasp larvae.”
“Holy shit are you ever bad at this,” Dean says, with that signature brand of fond horror he special-orders just for Castiel, Angel of the Gourd.

Summary
Six months after Cas was swallowed by the Empty, Dean, Sam and Jack find a spell to pull an angel from the Empty, but the last ingredient is missing. Determined to save Cas, Dean travels back to 2009 to get the missing ingredient from the only person who can give it to him: Castiel, fresh from having pulled Dean from hell.
(Inspired by the tumblr post about what would be the most insane combination of Dean and Cas to meet. My answer was post-confession Dean and season 4 Cas)

Summary
“So what’s up with- Dude, again?” Sam’s voice rings through the room incredulously.
Dean grunts in response.
“You can’t possibly still be tired. Like, I feel like this should be physically impossible.”
“Tell that to my melatonin levels.”
“How do you know what melatonin is?”
Dean does his best to roll his eyes under the cover of his eyelids. “Jesus, Sam, I’m not an idiot. Will you shut up so I can sleep?”
He hears Sam huff. “Ya know, if you wanted to nap, you could always use that thing you have called a bed.”
“Not the same,” Dean grumbles. His body doesn’t get all loose when he’s laying in his bed watching horror movies. The synapses that slow their firing contentedly seem to be wired to that same invisible bodily response of the outside world, and apparently being in the openness of his family’s space turns his brain into mush. “Now unless someone’s dying, I’m beggin’ you to shut up.”
or the one where the whole family is together, dean finds enough peace to take some naps, and he's not sure he'll ever figure out how to say those three big words to cas
