Paris had fallen. The City of Lights was now a city of silence and shadows, gripped by Monarch’s control. Hope was a fragile ember, barely burning.
No one had seen Adrien Agreste since the fall.
But Chat Noir still moved through the ruins — silent, torn, and unrelenting.
Every day, he brought her food, water, and medicine, whatever she needed. Every night, he checked the traps, scanned the perimeter, watching for Monarch’s soldiers. They said Ladybug was dead. They broadcast her face. Stripped her of one earring.
They said Marinette Dupain-Cheng was gone.
But Adrien knew better. She was here. Alive. Weak, but fighting.
And so he fought too.
He smiled for her. Spoke gently, like the world outside wasn’t burning. She always managed a smile, even when it hurt.
What he didn’t say: that he hadn’t slept in days. That every time he closed his eyes, he saw his father’s face behind the mask. That the weight of every mistake pressed like iron against his ribs.
But he bore it. For her.Set a year and half after Deflagration, Monarch has taken control of Paris.

Summary
Marinette Dupain-Cheng, caught between her responsibilities as a hero and her life as a teenager, is losing herself.
After a heated argument with Ladybug, Chat Noir becomes determined to uncover what’s really going on with her, but Ladybug can’t bring herself to let him in.
Back in the classroom, Adrien notices Marinette’s growing exhaustion. Though she refuses to open up to him, something tells him that she might be more willing to talk to Chat Noir. Unaware of her connection to Ladybug, he resolves to visit her nightly, determined not to lose her like he’s losing his lady.

She didn't say anything afterwards, maybe she sensed what the future would bring, maybe she was just tired of him. All Chat Noir knows is that in the blink of an eye she was gone.
And when tomorrow started, she was dead.
