Crosshair was led to believe his chip was removed. Made to accept that he was the way he was and that there was nothing he could do about it. He would be forced to hunt his friends down, his family, for the rest of his life. But it doesn't have to be like that.
Fix it of sorts for the Bad Batch finale. As in: what if Crosshair did go with them and they took his chip out? (If he even still has one) So many fun 'What If's!
