Sirius chews the inside of his cheek as he stares down a row of Christmas cards in the shop around the corner for his office and tries not to feel like the world’s biggest arse. He wishes he hadn’t waited to the last minute to do this, but when he pulled Remus Lupin’s name out of the hat for the office-wide Secret Santa exchange he’d panicked.
A short story in which Sirius is awkward, Remus is sneaky, and James is no help at all.

Summary
Beer in hand, he turned toward the densest part of the crowd – only to realize they were gathered around a mechanical bull. Just as someone queued up Blondie’s "One Way or Another" on the jukebox, a voice cut through the noise like a spur to the ribs:
"Told y’all I ride better than that dumbass!" Padfoot’s drawl was unmistakable, even over Debbie Harry’s opening riff. "Time to put my money where my mouth is."
Remus pushed through the crowd to the fenced-off area where mats surrounded a massive mechanical bull, currently swaying gently back and forth. Astride it sat the rodeo host from earlier, still in his showman's outfit – though now barefoot. For some reason, those pale, narrow feet pressing against the sides of the mechanical beast looked both vulnerable and unbearably erotic. And damn if Remus hadn't just discovered he might have a foot fetish after all.
Not that he should be imagining those feet hooked over his shoulders – that kind of scenario was beyond impossible for him.
