Summary
As the heavenly capital was being rebuilt, a new temple to General Xuan Zhen rose in the Southwest. As usual, Mu Qing heard about it immediately and descended to make sure it was up to his exacting standards.
When he entered the new temple and found an exquisitely carved statue of himself holding hands with General Nan Yang, Mu Qing laughed until he cried, then burnt the temple to the ground.
As the heavenly capital was being rebuilt, a new temple to General Nan Yang rose in the Southeast. As usual, Feng Xin ignored it.
By the time he was settled in his new palace, Feng Xin knew something was wrong. After centuries of conflict and mistrust, he felt a sudden, inexplicable drive to be kind to Mu Qing.

“Why do you keep putting words in my mouth?” Feng Xin sounded furious. “Mu Qing, I would shout from the rooftops about how much I love you, I would send dreams to every one of my followers proclaiming my love. I would write poetry, even though I don’t think I’m very good at it. I would do all of that and more if I thought you wanted it. But you don’t, do you? You never give me the time of day, we’re barely friends. I was content with what I had, and I will be content with what you give me. If you want me to stay away, I will stay away. If you want me to be your friend, then I will be your friend.”

Summary
Mu Qing was a martial god and an absolute master of the zhanmadao, but he had always pursued continuous learning throughout his life. He was proficient with many weapons, and adequate with most others. However, the bow and arrow required a different set of skills. Mu Qing had already practised on his own in secret, trying to recreate Feng Xin’s movements, but he felt like he needed some proper training, hence why he was spying on the palace of Nan Yang.
One thing leads to another, and Mu Qing ends up having a private archery lesson with Feng Xin.

Feng Xin steps boldly towards him, closing their distance to a degree that has Mu Qing’s mind blanking out dumbly. Then, he feels a heavy hand on his back pushing him in the direction of his palace’s entrance.
“It’s late. The pup needs rest, and you need rest too. So if you don’t mind,”
The alpha’s deep rumbling tone almost has a numbing effect on Mu Qing’s already frayed nerves. He’s tired, he’s on edge, he has a pup cradled against his chest and the love of his life just casually comes to…to…
Mu Qing lets out a heavy sigh, “Do whatever you want.”
While on duty, Mu Qing discovers a peculiar child. A young boy from Yunmeng.
