Summary
Wes and Lanie are both doing their best to get by. Her by taking car of her dog, going to work, and trying to fend off the local gossip, and him by fighting the demons that live in his brain. On a particularly hot summer's day, they find themselves in the very ordinary situation of being at the same diner, each believing the other to be someone they've never met before. For Wes, sparks fly immediately. She's the kindest, most beautiful woman he's ever seen and makes him pretty much instantly twitterpated. Lanie on the other hand cannot get past how much of a sopping wet pathetic little creature the fully grown man cowering in the back of her place of work is.
