Summary
“You’ve seriously never wanted anything like that?” Ian asks suddenly, impulsively. “A boyfriend?”
It doesn’t seem like there’s any bigger implication behind it, but it’s a stupid fucking question anyway. It’s not about want— what Mickey wants is irrelevant. What Ian wants should be irrelevant, but Ian’s always got his head set on one goal or another. Probably thinks that he could get that one day, and maybe he could. Mickey can’t.
“’S kinda nice,” Ian continues, and Mickey’s so cornered he considers praying to God, if there is one watching, to make him drop it already. “Like, banging in an actual bed. Taking our time. Chilling after and then maybe going again. Talking.”

Summary
There's values he lived his life by for years, and he's added more to live by now: loyalty, duty, respect, selfless service, honor, integrity, courage. For better or for worse, richer or poorer. In sickness and in health. To love and to cherish, until death do they part.
Love and war— Ian thinks maybe it’s all the same in the end.
a war-themed series of vignettes throughout ian and mickey's relationship. -

Summary
He can imagine the sight clear as day: patrol agents have the car surrounded. Sniffer dogs are snarling and chomping at him. Mickey’s loaded gun is in the glove compartment. Neither of them reach for it. But someone pulls a trigger, and there’s no glass to separate Ian from the blood this time.
In reality, Ian’s not in the car. The gate lifts, and Mickey passes over.
Losing Mickey is a practiced ritual at this point, as is losing Monica, but Ian doesn’t know how to wrap his mind around losing both forever at the same time. Mickey to “heaven,” Monica to Heaven.
Ian hopes they’re both in heaven, at least.
ian, religion, and bipolar disorder, a character study.

“What the fuck is this?”
A photo of Ian flipping him off.
Mandy took it in the early spring. It was cold enough that there was still snow on the ground, and they were playing around with the camera on Ian’s new iPhone while waiting for the lunch period to finish. He took several pictures of her from below, unflattering angles, until she snatched the phone from him and tweaked his nipple. He stuck his middle finger up at her, and she took the picture.
Printed out on shitty Walgreens photo paper, it sits in Mickey’s hand, mocking him. Ian howls.

Summary
They're supposed to be running away together. Ian hates whatever fucking nurture-over-nature compass Fiona somehow instilled in him that means the one thing he's running back to is never the thing he wants to want. That Mickey's love makes him want to run away as fast as he can because this thing, this solid thing is so much. And he's already so much on his own.
Mickey had two burning torches for hands but he knew what to do with them. Ian's head was on fire and all he knew was how to run and keep running. How to find a cliff and jump off. How to make Mickey chase after him, again and again. And in a cold cell in prison, Mickey catches him.

Summary
Mickey character study/deep dive covering from 1x03 until he steals the gun. Also a little bit of Mandy character study because her and Ian's friendship is so important to me.
Basically I love that Ian was the first person both Mickey and Mandy really let in and I want to explore that. I might add to this or make it a series covering other parts of the show as it pertains to these relationships. No dialogue.
I'm like super late to the party but I got into Shameless a few months ago and I love Mickey, that's my boy.
Title taken from Apple Cider by BeabadoobeeRated T for foul language (it's Mickey???) and multiple references to canon Milkovich shenanigans/crimes

Summary
He’s still greedy, even now. Still can’t figure out how to loosen his grip on it just a little, knuckles white with how hard he’s holding on, but he’s trying so hard to give Eddie space and time because he asked for it, because when they got together, Eddie couldn’t seem to stop looking at him when he asked Buck to be patient with him, couldn’t hide the nerves from his voice, the vulnerability of his open chest, the honesty in his fingers against Buck’s wrist where he’d held on so gently as if he was afraid to come any closer. So Buck is trying, to just sink into having it rather than wanting more, to let it be enough rather than him being too much, and he’s been doing good, mostly. He’s been doing good.
-
Or asking for what you want is asking too much of Buck, except it isn’t really. Not when it’s Eddie.
