The rush of seeing A-Yao again has temporarily faded into background noise, as has everything around them apart from the space they share. He holds on tightly to his hands, grounding himself. A-Yao is here, his, and while kissing him hello is a crucial endeavour, there’s no hurry. He will stay. Xichen can take his time.
