Summary
Mike drops Michael off at her place on the outskirts of town, trying to ignore the blaring, cheesy lyrics and how well they slot into her own life right now, oddly enough—something about giving someone your heart for Christmas. Gift idea, Mike thinks giddily. Michael would love her heart, all wrapped up and sent. And apparently her kidney.

”You can’t order poems or apologies the way you order a coffee. You walk up to the counter, smile at the barista who recognizes you, maybe from Vogue or nameless sex magazines or shit-talking forums online or Ulta posters, and ask for a pistachio coffee—then the boy you grew up with, who you don’t really know anymore, surprises you by ordering the same thing he always gets.”
or,
a series of cohesive vignettes, outlining sociopolitical commentary on the fashion and beauty–adjacent industry.

ver. twoor,
People are supposed to change. They’re supposed to grow. Nico was always meant to grow up. Just like Annabeth. Just like Percy. Just like Grover. Thalia was maybe supposed to grow up, too, until she didn’t. And then she got another chance at it, as if that meant something, and somehow, she lost that one too. -

Even destroying what should have been the final connective conjunction to Hydra: you cut off one head and two more take its place. All that.
He wasn’t exactly fond of the concept implying destroying fascists just invited twice as many Neo-Nazis to take their place, but he would also like to argue, for the sake of it, that only meant all the more Nazis to punch.

"I want to experience more. And this?" She places her palm on Arlecchino's cheek and starts stroking it. "This, I could only with you."
What if, during the festival, Arlecchino and Columbina confessed much more to each other?

Now I've noticed your humanness." Arlecchino gently takes Columbina's hand. She feels the woman's fingernails on her skin. A pleasant tingling sensation runs through her body at that contact. "And I think it suits you very well. In my eyes, you are more lovely than ever before. I believe that with each new thing you discover, you will blossom even more beautifully."

Summary
A seraphim bemoans the lives of the lost. They are the overseers of mankind, from genesis till death.
The light casts upon her mistress like a halo, a visage unworthy for mortal eyes. Her skin seems diaphanous beneath the light. Her barrettes are wings clipped from the angels.
She is ethereal. Her power goes beyond human or enhanced being. But Columbina is no seraphim.
Still, Arlecchino wants to kneel before her.
Arlecchino is Columbina's most devout worshipper, regardless of circumstances.

Summary
there is another, much more obvious explanation, of course. not quite a fault in his design, yet one that humiliates him regardless. the electricity within him hums with confusion—and certainly not embarrassment—before ultimately rationalizing. if braiding was a pattern coded into him, in the name of maintaining the state of his once-long hair, it was only natural his body would respond when presented with the opportunity. his body likely does not recognize that said hair is not his own; he was never meant to wander amongst mortals, after all.
before he can finish explaining to himself what he’s doing, a small braid has been formed behind sethos’ temple.
(scara is unable to sleep the night sethos is due to leave on an expedition, and leaves the latter with an impromptu gift for his journey.)

He doesn’t say: Arthur loved his knights, you know. Loved them the with no regard to the action of adultery such knights may have taken against the king. Through war and pain and death and betrayal. Doesn’t say: Arthur loved his knights like the sun loved the skies. The way the sword loves its scabbard and the way the scabbard loves to be fastened at the knight's waist. The way the knight loves his sword, and loves to force his sword into the chests of unsuspecting enemies, and the way the knight loves to lay claim to the world for the king.
Doesn’t say: me and my brother have this in common.

“It wasn’t a lie, I just didn’t tell you.”
“Really?” Bucky absolutely does not deliberately chop a piece exactly three-fifths too small. Sam absolutely notices, and absolutely is mad about it. Good.
“I really was gonna.”
“When? On our wedding day? On our honeymoon? Respective deathbeds, surrounded by our kids and grandkids?”
“That's a lot of presumption on the progression of our lives together, Buck. Do I get a say in any of it?”
"No, not really."
"Alright."
