He’s panicking now, fighting with the locks on your door as he tries to remember which configuration actually opens the damn thing.
“Please forget I said anything, I’m not the person you should be taking any kind of life advice from, but especially not…” You reach out and grab his wrist, and he whips his head around to finally look at you. “Love.”

It’s half midnight when your phone buzzes with Andrew’s name. You pause the video playing on your laptop and stare at the screen, confused. It’s not unusual to get late-night texts from Andrew seeing as he’s not the earliest of risers, but the contents of such texts were usually confined to music, creative ideas, and the kind of small talk that would grate on you if it were anyone else.
They weren’t…this. Whatever this is.

Summary
Attending your ex’s wedding is probably the least advised course of action you could take, but you’d suffered so much humiliation from being dropped so suddenly, only to have Rory move on with the next woman who hopped into his bed. This would be a grand opportunity to show up with your head held high and show everyone how well you’ve been despite the heartbreak–so well, in fact, that you dared to show up to this wedding at all.
“It could be,” you finally concede with a shrug. Then, your eyes light up with a devilish idea. “But, he’s the one who invited me, right? It won’t be a surprise when I show up. Plus, it might be easier if someone goes with me…and maybe, I don’t know…plays the role of my new boyfriend…?”
There’s a moment of silence as your statement settles. You watch Andrew’s face screw up in confusion, head tilted the way he always does when thinking. Then, his eyebrows fly up in understanding.
“Oh, no. Absolutely fucking not.”
