Summary
“And do you usually break into your sister’s house in the middle of the night?”
“I—” Elphaba paused, frowning slightly at the women. “I didn’t break in,” she said mildly, shaking her head. “I used the door.”
She held up her keys, pointing them stupidly towards the door as if the woman wasn’t familiar with how the two functioned together.
The woman huffed, crossing her arms over her chest. “But why are you here?” she demanded. “It’s the middle of the night!”
“It’s eight o’clock,” Elphaba said, not really knowing why she was arguing that particular point. “Hardly the—”
“Alright!” the woman snapped, waving a dismissive hand around haphazardly. “You didn’t break in and it’s not the middle of the night. But what are you doing here?”

"See?" Elphaba said after a beat, only needing to whisper because she was right beside Galinda's ear now. The grip of her hands around Galinda loosened, but she didn't drop them. "You won't be doomed after all. You'll be able to steer yourself home."
"I think I'd rather have you there with me," Galinda said, without really thinking about it. “Just in case."

Summary
“Were you getting married, or something?” Elphaba asked eventually, even though she'd been the one who said she didn't want to talk.
“What?”
Elphaba gestured to Glinda's dress vaguely with her free hand. “Why are you wearing a wedding dress?”
“It's not a wedding dress,” Glinda told her. “It's pink.”
Elphaba glanced down at it, quirking a brow. “Is it?”
“Yes,” Glinda said, feeling ready to squirm at the way Elphaba's eyes seemed to linger on the bareness of her shoulders. “Under a certain light.”
