Summary
Jannik lost in Round 4 of the Cincinatti Open to Tommy Paul, the last warm up event before the US Open. Between winning Wimbledon and coming in to defend the next slam, he felt a bit claustrophobic. To blow off some steam, he ditches his team for one night and goes clubbing, but he doesn't go alone. Unbeknownst to him, that one night will domino into everything he feared, and everything he's ever wanted.

If he were sober, he might have recognized how catastrophically bad this idea was. That the roulette ball was not a sign, that they’d been playing for over an hour and it was bound to land on twenty-four eventually. But there was a buzzing warmth flooding his veins and a very loose grip on his rationality, so he headed away from the bar, through the lobby, and out onto the balmy Vegas strip. He leaned against a shadowed wall and scrolled to a contact he’d hovered over a thousand times before.

“You ask the front desk,” he shoots back, in between his odd wheezes. Ilya's heart starts to pound in double time, because this is not—this cannot be Shane Hollander playing bed chicken with him. Their competitiveness is fierce, to be certain, but surely, Hollander would be the bigger person, no? “This is my fucking room, Rozanov. Wild horses couldn't drag me away.”
