“It’s nothing, I scraped it yesterday skating.” Lovro went to pull the denim back over his leg, the cold biting at the injury, but Ivan’s warm hand covered his, halting the movement and tinging Lovro’s cheeks with red.
“Did you not bandage it, at least? It looks like shit.” Ivan’s baritone held a note of concern and he rubbed a comforting pattern at the juncture between Lovro’s thumb and index.

Summary
The first time that Ivan notices him, he’s on the tram. The sun hangs low in the sky, at the perfect angle for rich, golden light to pour through the windows, and it’s enough to almost have him in a good mood.
Despite the light, his eyes are still drawn to the boy from the moment he steps onto the tram, even though he’s shrouded by shadow, backlit by the sun. Before even seeing his face, Ivan is drawn to the shape of him. To the way that he walks, a little unsure of himself. To the timbre of his voice as one of his friends says something that has him complaining.
