His heart slammed violently against his ribs—a traitorous thud that echoed in his ears while the rest of his defense dissolved into the quiet space between them.

Junior Panachai has always found it easier to stay unnoticed. His stutter makes speaking in front of others difficult, so he keeps to himself and sees the world through the lens of his camera, quietly observing things he cannot quite understand as beautiful.
Then Mark Jiruntanin walks through the classroom door.
