Summary
No one knew where the virus came from. By the time they noticed it, it was too late. The Grid's factions put their differences aside and built a haven in the Outlands--the Outpost. Time passes; the Grid's programs survive. Then the Portal opens again, bringing Users back to the Grid, and what happens next may change their world forever.

Summary
Two years after the events of Mankind Divided, the Illuminati's waiting has paid off: Jensen has led them to the lair of Janus, who has been dispatched along with several Juggernaut members. Now captive, confused, and aware that some part of him is Illuminati-controlled, Jensen has to escape the expanding grip of the Task Force and make his way back to the US, in order to pursue a new, rising threat: MJ12.
Forced into a deal with the devil--The enemy of his enemy--Jensen makes some unlikely friends in hostile territory. The question is very rapidly becoming not whether he can reveal the Illuminati, but if humanity, and his new teammates, can survive the onslaught of one ambitious man who has a virus in hand and is all out of patience.
My take on how the final game in the Trilogy would have gone. Set leading up to and during Bob Page's coup.
A little bit miserable. A little bit heartwarming. Very gay and neurodivergent. God knows if I'll finish this, there's just SO MUCH to cover. But feel free to read the end of a story my hyperfixation has driven me to resolve.
