Summary
The story begins on the last day of December, circa 1923.
Its a chilly New Years day — jazz from the drum bleeds out into the street where a feisty mobster walks home from a night of celebration, nighttime paints the sky black and dots it with little lights.
Despite his cover-up gig giving him more than enough to think about, he can’t help the seemingly everlasting effect a certain detective brings on; he hums with his body buzzing through the belts he swallowed down moments prior…

Summary
Genius hasn’t lost many things in their life; normally being very attentive when it came to things they cared about. Yet, their brother’s sudden disappearance sent them into a frenzy.
They went out of their way to find him again; scouting the streets of New York like a dog with a scent. They didn’t care who or what was made uncomfortable by their searching, they swore their life on it.
Meeting the private eye was purely happenstance, a damn good one at that - but when his discrepancies bubbled to the surface against their strongest lead, Genius alters their questions to him.
No matter how much Khaleed dodges and dissuades them, Genius can see his resolve cracking at its seams.
