    Unfortunately Mayuri Kurotsuchi has about zero interest in dating, and would much rather focus on his (perfectly legal*) lab projects and on his actual career. Fortunately the vice-president of the S.R.D.I is also a genius – the obvious solution is a hired wife, and Rukongai is full of them.

    Meanwhile in Hanamachi, the women deal the best they can in the competitive, high-priced floating world. Sumiko is struggling along, determined to survive her debts and her traumatic past. Life in Rukongai is bleak, and her worst fear comes true when a shinigami notices her: and of course it’s some mad scientist too. She was cursed.

    (SUMMARY IS BAD, I will attempt a better one later… this fic starts really dark and deals with heavy themes, idk where this comedy description came from lol. ***I do now...dark comedy, but treated seriously)
