Bakugou hasn’t had a bad depressive episode since moving into the dorms, which was a surprise really. He thought that as soon as he got settled in, the events of the kidnapping would finally catch up to him, but they didn’t. He won’t admit that it was probably because he was on call with Izuku every second of every day, and when he wasn’t, he was in class taking in information.
(His therapist said it was because of his dissociation but he firmly believes it was his boyfriend's help)Bakugou falls into a depressive episode, but this is the first one he's had at the dorms meaning it's the first one he's spent away from Izuku. So he requests for Izuku to stay on campus for a week, because he knows how this goes, he's been there too many times. Stuck in that endless loop of feeling like he'll never be better. And Izuku is the only one who knows how to break through it.
But when Izuku shows up, he isn't as Bakugou expected. He has this look in his eyes, far away, like he's seeing through Bakugou and simultaneously looking too closely at him. It scares Bakugou to no ends. He keeps it to himself, believing he hurt Izuku, but Izuku just wants to help.Slow burn but of Bakugou's mental health journey? YES.

"Zuku," Katsuki whispered—a barely audible plea that was swallowed by the murmur of the press.
Izuku looked down. He felt Katsuki’s grip and, instead of letting go, interlaced his fingers with the blonde’s. He gave a reassuring squeeze, turning toward him to offer one of those light-filled smiles they usually shared in private. Everything’s okay, he tried to say with his eyes.
But the effect of the quirk didn't stop. The truth demanded an exit.
"And because of that," Izuku continued, turning back to the front and fixing his eyes on the man in the hoodie, "he burned my arms. The first time it really hurt, but later I got used to the smell of scorched sugar."
