“What’s wrong with him?” Akutagawa asks but is ignored. Double-black is a messy bond held together by threads Akutagawa can’t see— they don’t take kindly to outsiders trying to step on the bounds of it.
When Dazai falls forward on wobbly legs, it’s reflex that has Akutagawa reaching forward to try and catch him. Chuuya snags Dazai back up before that can happen.
“Fuck off. This isn’t your problem.”

Even his lungs seemed to be working slower than usual, as if the order for silence had included the sound of his breath. It was so infuriating. Why couldn’t Akutagawa do anything against this man?"
