Summary
Sister Imperator’s heels clicked on the floor, bouncing off the stone, echoing through empty hall, “A Papa’s seed is most valuable,” she said, and you struggled to hear her over the pounding of your heart. You willed away the fear and straightened your shoulders - your position was the highest a Sister could reach. Few Sisters reached the levels you had and fewer still were accepted as applicants.
Now though, your training and expertise, your work ethic and stoicism has been called to the forefront of your duties. And Imperator had drawn the popsicle stick with your name on it.
“More potent than any other,” Imperator continued and you snapped back to attention, “Usually spilled carelessly, they forget how powerful it is. But, the time as has come. The stars and planets have, quite literally, aligned. The solstice, the sabbat and the eclipse are all falling together in the same week. It is time to replenish our stores.”

“All work and no play’s turned you cruel,” Dew laments, and rises. Places his palms on the heavy desk and leans in, shower-damp hair in a curtain over his shoulders. “Could sweeten you back up. If you wanted.” Imperator takes a quick breath in.
“Office hours are over,” she says. “Lock the door.”
“Did that on the way in.” He has the cheek to wink.
He trails his fingers over the wood as he walks around to her, loving the way her eyes follow him, up until he stands behind her, rests those elegant hands on her shoulders and gives them a little squeeze.
“Feeling tingly yet?”
Or, the road is fun, but coming home is, too.
