Summary
“Yummy,” George echoed, and he laughed. It was crackling fire and twirling pixie sticks around your finger like a baton. Bubbling, like the way Dream used to stick half of his face under water and exhale through his nose to make his sister laugh when they were kids. He was so perfect. George was visibly happier this last year. He smiled wider, laughed louder, all the basic stuff anyone with a fucking brain could see. Except Dream saw more that didn’t show up on camera. Maybe being happy was like radiation. Maybe Dream was fucking Chernobyl, a nuclear reactor, and it was exposure to him that made George glow. Was that egotistical? Dream knew he was – a bit egotistical, that is. But he needed to think that it was his fault George was better. Because it had been his fault to begin with when he wasn’t.
