The emperor smiled coquettishly, his eyes roving over his ex general’s body, “But, I am nothing if not generous. If General Xie enters my harem, and agrees to serve me as my concubine, this matter may be reconsidered.”
The youth’s words were laced with such ridicule, such venom, it was obvious to any with ears that the proposal was hardly a serious one. The youth had clearly meant to humiliate the ex general into silence. Xie Qingcheng was a man of pride and decorum after all.
