It takes a while for Eddie to realize this morning is not like the others, that there’s this wrongness thick in the air of the room.
It takes a while for Eddie to realize Buck’s tense and stiff as a board in his arms and that he’s not responding to any of Eddie’s touches with the usual eagerness and earnestness as only Buck can be.
“Buck, baby?” His voice comes out all croaky from the tiredness and from only just waking up. “What’s wrong?”
“I’m sorry, I, uh, I don’t-” Buck stutters, crawling out of bed and getting his legs all tangled in the sheets in his haste. Eddie’s frozen in place. “I don’t, uh— Who are you?.”

She flips, catches and says with studied casualness, "So, Eddie. Did Buck ever tell you he was in love with you?"

Taylor puts the beer mats down on the bar, lining them up perfectly. She looks back up at Eddie. "You really didn't know, huh?"

“Someone is catfishing as you.” His eyes are wide and his face is serious. Stressed. Eddie has no idea what he’s talking about.
“What?”
Buck slows down and carefully says each word. “Someone's using stolen photos of you on a dating app. Pretending to be you.” He looks miserable, like it pains him to deliver this news. Eddie’s face must still show confusion, because Buck lets out a frustrated huff and then shoves his phone right in front of his face. “Look.”
And. Shit.
Buck’s phone shines brightly in the evening light of the loft, and there, nearly blinding him, is his own Tinder profile.
