Summary
The Avengers have spent months studying Spider-Man.
Natasha knows how he moves, how he fights, how he escapes, and how he never strikes first, always protects civilians, and always runs when the Avengers arrive.
Then he tells her he's fifteen, and minutes later, he's bleeding out in her arms, and Natasha has eight days to sit with everything she failed to see while Peter fights to survive.
Or
‘Five Months’ but from Natasha's POV after the Avengers almost killed Peter, with a lot more guilt and considerably less emotional repression than Natasha would probably prefer.
