    It's useless. You try to put a little weight on your ankle. Your ankle, which is swollen and stubborn and beyond finished with your shenanigans - it screams again when you try to stand on it, and you nearly get your wish, letting out a small shriek as it gives out and you crumple—

    But March is there, ducking under your arm and hoisting you up. Quick to the trigger, of course. Another fucking point for him, you think woozily as he grunts under your weight. “Just calm down, for god's sake,” he grits out, trying to manoeuvre you both back to the anvil. “It's fine.”

    It doesn't feel fine, your shame and fear eating you alive, but you say nothing.

    You chance a glance up at his expression, his face so close to your own. His eyes are narrowed in focus, and the tips of his ears are red. It takes your breath away, and you try to blame it on the pain.
