Hua Cheng has taken to lounging on the side of their bed, still wearing just his sheer red inner robes from earlier. Looking right into Xie Lian’s eyes, he repeats, voice low and hushed, “Lian-er, Lian-er. My noble, gracious Lian-er.” If love were blood, his eye was a red river. San Lang gazes at him with such tender affection, Xie Lian cannot help but feel the weight of the moment.
He takes a sharp inhale.
“…Yes, beloved? Darling, dearest, my husband, one and only husband–”
