Summary
Wylan still hadn’t told Jesper, or any of the Crows for that matter, that he was, in fact, the son of Jan Van Eck; a notorious merchant among the Dregs of Ketterdam. How could Wylan possibly explain these thoughts that plagued him constantly? How could he express that every time someone raised their voice at him, he imagined his father’s cold and unloving stare piercing his skin? How could he tell Jesper, the man Wylan was convinced was the love of his life, that he had been lying to him about his identity throughout their entire relationship?
He couldn’t. He just couldn’t.

This is a show-canon take on the Van Eck Reveal where Wylan has nightmares about Jan Van Eck but can't let Jesper find out because that would mean telling him the truth about his past. Wylan would stop at nothing to rid himself of these nightmares, even if it means risking his own health and relationships.
