My eyes darted over to Annie and I saw her chest heaving, her pale skin dusted a deep red and her lips slightly swollen from our intimate moment. I felt my stomach erupt with butterflies at the sight. “Woah chill, you guys just seemed like you were getting into it a bit much, you can use one of those rooms if you’d like,” said Jean with a smirk, motioning to one of the doors on the other side of the room. I glared at him.
“It was just a dare,” said Annie.

You clench your fists as hard as you can, tears streaming down your face. “I don’t deserve it. I don’t deserve any of your kindness, or compassion. I have too much blood on my hands.”
“All of us do. The only thing we can do now is survive, no matter what,” he quietly says, his pensive eyes studying your slouched form sitting on the ground.
“But is surviving enough, when you don’t have people to share your life with anymore?” you ask, your voice just a barely audible whisper.
He stops and thinks it over for a moment, then firmly states. “It has to be.”
