Summary
Tim doesn’t quite know how he ends up outside of Lucy’s door, but he feels like he’s been the one underwater until he knocks and she answers, and when he sees her alive and whole, her cheeks flushed and her hair wet as if she’s just gotten out of a warm shower, it feels like he’s finally breaking the surface of the water, able to breathe again for the first time in hours, and he doesn’t think.
He just acts.
“Lucy,” he says, and he hates the way his voice breaks a little in the middle of her name, but he doesn’t give her time to comment on it or even notice before he’s shoving into her apartment. He stalks up to her, his body pressed all along hers, and he’s cupping her face in his hands, lowering his lips to hers without even taking a breath.
She is the air he needs.
He could live and die in her arms, breathing in her scent, tasting her mouth, and he wouldn’t even care.
