Summary
“I can't– I won't be left behind again, dad,” he said, trying not to let his voice crack at the end. “I'll be good, I won't exert myself, I swear. Let me come with you, please."
His dad sighed, hesitating, before looking over at Neytiri with eyes full of questions. The trip wouldn’t be long, they were only dropping Spider off to high-camp and returning, but danger loomed everywhere.
In return, she tilted her head slightly, as if to say that sometimes, it might be good to bend a little. His dad ended up nodding so faintly Neteyam thought he had missed it at first.Or,
Neteyam survived getting shot, but the aftermath of his injury left him lost and angry, violence lingering in his mind like a never receding tide. Recovery was hard, finding out who he was outside of duty and sacrifice even harder.
But in an ironic twist of fate, the one person with whom he managed to find peace was Ao’nung, once his biggest enemy, now something between a friend and a lover.
Yet among the ashes of an unrelenting war, battles were always waiting to be fought, and what seemed like a new adventure at first, soon turned into another race against death. -

Summary
Neteyam felt nothing but a deep longing for this home he would probably never see again –a small part of him felt it. He hated everything about their desertion, but deep down he knew they’d had no choice but to flee the war, and for how heavy it weighed on his shoulders, it was certainly worse for his parents. His siblings too suffered from it.
It was hard on them, and it would only get harder once they landed, for only uncertainty awaited them on distant shores.Or,
Neteyam had always been familiar with sacrifice, control, and discipline, it ran in his veins the same way defiance ran in Lo’ak’s. Yet upon arriving in the Metkayina village of Awa’atlu, in an ironic twist of events, he met a boy who made his whole world collapse; troubling, obnoxious, often cruel, Ao’nung was everything he wasn’t. Through secret meetings and stolen glances, their hostility turned into something deeper.
But war was coming, and Neteyam was ready to lay down his life if it meant protecting what he held dear.
