Out in the distance, a person waved at them with a leisurely look, her broad shoulder pressed against a stack of planks. She was much too far away for Keqing to recognize, even when she squinted, but Ganyu seemed to light up like a house on fire. Ganyu grinned, and cupped her own hands to yell, “It’s good to see you too, Beidou!”
Keqing's stomach was warm again, but in a way that trash liked to burn in the alleyways. Gross, viscous, and vile in nature.
She didn’t know what to make of it, or to understand why the feeling was so present.

This wasn’t a place she frequented. Outside of UST, you’d usually find her loitering around Ateneo or La Salle, pretending to study while her friends were in class. But UPD? That was dangerous territory. Mostly because Sophia Laforteza would run her out of campus the second she found out Manon was here. It wasn’t like they hated each other, exactly. They tolerated each other’s presence enough during weekly hangouts somewhere in Manila, usually sitting at opposite ends of the table while Dani and Megan forced them into the same group photo. But it’s not like they were friends either.
Their first meeting had set the tone. It was at an architecture event hosted by a UP alumni group that invited freshmen from different universities. Sophia had been confidently practicing her German introduction under her breath, only for Manon to overhear and correct her pronunciation mid-sentence. Sophia had blinked at her, looked at her ID, before scoffing out an irritated, “Thank you, Manon,” like her name itself tasted sour on her tongue. They’d been bickering ever since.
