That's what Alma was thinking about as he watched Kanda's eyes blink and then widen. It was as if he could also see the colors flooding Kanda's vision. He stopped in the middle of the crosswalk, spinning around.
Reluctantly, Alma followed his gaze to the young man with striking white hair and eyes a glinting shade of pale grey staring back. He wore a well-made and well-loved suit, clean and free of dirt and blood. Astonishment was written across his face, and it was all Alma could do not to flinch away when they started toward each other. Tears burned his eyes, vision as monochrome as the first day he met Yu.
Or where Alma thought he was finally going to get to be with Kanda, and then Allen shows up.

Despite his better judgment, Allen Walker had become important to him. Not in the way that Lenalee or Tiedoll or Marie were. No, this was different, something in his chest squirming and reaching. He didn’t know what to do with the feeling, so he did nothing but observe.
It was how he noticed the change, the stiffening in Allen’s shoulders, the reddening of his neck, the shift in his scent. His scent had always been rather neutral like a beta’s, vaguely woodsy and savory. But this… this was sweet and tangy. Baked apples on a summer evening before a lightning storm. Perfectly whisked matcha beside a waterfall. Dark chocolate melting in the summer sun.
Or: Allen goes into preheat, and that's a problem. So, they find a solution.

“Come on, Yu, you can tell me. I’m not going to tell anyone.” Being the Bookman in training (a.k.a. busybody) that he was, Lavi had a vested interest in what names appeared on who. Being as keen-eyed as he was, he usually got what he wanted even when people tried to hide the names from him.
Kanda had tried. For the longest time, he did his best to hide his wrists from Lavi, even going so far as to wear sweatbands and thick stacks of bracelets to obscure the black ink. His exorcist uniform always worked in his favor, the sleeves long and fitted.

Or where Lavi is very interested in knowing the names that appear on everyone else, and is surprised by the ones he finds on his friends.

Allen shifts so he can look Kanda in the eyes from where he’s arranged himself in their nest, placing a pillow in another spot as he does so, ensuring he locks eyes with the dark-haired man.
“Yeah? I’d sure like to see it,” Allen replies, monotone. “Omega on omega violence? And here I thought you loved me. Guess that was just for the apartment after all.”
Allen and Kanda fix their nest before going to bed.
