Will raises his eyebrows. “Is that why you came in here?” he repeats, looking back down at the blue flannel. “To ask me about the weather in Lenora?”
“Kind of,” Mike says, and then, “well no, not about the weather specifically. I just– I wanted to talk to you.”
“Oh.” And Will looks a lot more surprised at this, actually, than the idea that Mike might have just wanted to come to his room to make small talk about unseasonably frigid California winters. “Okay. What about?”
“Anything.” The response is embarrassingly immediate. “Everything. I don’t know. I missed you.”
Hawkins, 1986. The world is ending, there are too many people in Mike's house, and to top it all off, he and Will have some things to talk through.

Summary
Mike feels—fuzzy, a little bit. Not from the wine, because he didn’t have much, but just from the day itself. From his realization. From the certainty that he can’t go back, after this. He’s let himself feel it. He’s let himself decide. From today on, there’ll just be the time before he knew he liked Will, and the time after.
Without really thinking about it, he swipes over to his messages. His and Will’s pathetic last conversation is still there, Will’s gracious apology and Mike’s fumbling acceptance. The screen blurs in front of his eyes; light and color and sound. He types:
Do you ever think about us?
He presses send.

“No,” Mike says forcefully, and then, with a frustrated sound, “I mean- yes, I don’t know. What I mean is, it’s bullshit that you had to deal with that, and it’s bullshit that you have to deal with-” here he gestures wildly to, Will assumes, the general shitshow that their lives have become, “all of this, and I just…” he sighs, and lets his hand fall to rest on top of Will’s. The contact, the casualness with which he initiates it, surprises Will so much that he stops trying to strangle his pinky finger with the couch thread. “You should have the things you want,” Mike says, squeezing Will’s hand.

Robin leaned closer, voice gentle. “All I’m saying is, it’s okay to like him. And it’s also extremely, painfully obvious.”
Will froze. “…to who?”
Robin’s grin stretched slow and wicked. “Only to me. Because I understand. He doesn’t know, don’t worry. Because that boy? Dense. Like, heroically dense. Historically dense. Scientists are going to study him.”
Will huffed, cheeks burning. Will’s eyes darted involuntarily to the centre of the room. Max and El were squished together on an armchair. Mike was sprawled on the carpet with Dustin and Lucas, waving his arms around dramatically as he argued about which Star Wars film was objectively the best. His hair was a mess. His cheeks were flushed. He was smiling.
And Will felt that stupid expanding warmth in his chest that he couldn’t get rid of no matter how hard he tried.

Post-Vecna, Will and Robin continue to bond. Robin knows Will likes Mike. Mike thinks Will likes Robin.
One jealousy spiral, several misunderstandings, and a lot of pining later… they finally kiss.
